To activate the passwords: 

1.Pause the game 

2.Enter the password and then QUIT (the select button) 

Do the above separately for each password, then type OEX to unlock the passwords 

SQUARE, X, TRIANGLE= ? 

O,O,X,O,TRIANGLE, SQUARE= Special Laser 

O,X,SQUARE = Refuels you once
